About

We utilize open source technology, frequentest and Bayesian (computational) approaches to statistical inference, Natural Language Processing / Understanding and emerging technologies to bring Intelligent Decision Support to the operation and foster a sense of data curiosity. PA&R is made up of three major program areas that support the delivery of police services in a cycle of continuous improvement: 

The Data Analytics Platform (DAP) is a data mart and technical platform that makes data available and runs advanced analysis that we push out through Tableau. The Research program learns new things about the operation and feeds those finding and methods back to the operation. Data Governance assures maintains standards, documentation, and drives to enhance data quality. The team utilizes a combination of hybrid - Agile and CRISP-DM to develop new analytical procedures and bring them to the operation. We maintain a network of more than fifty researchers representing a wide range of academic disciplines around the globe and lead a national workgroup on Analytics & Evidence-Based Policing, affiliated with the Major Cities Chiefs Association.
